US Freestyle PWC Championship - Spring Round in Lake Havasu
Watching guys race against each other, showing off their fast watercraft is always fun. But it's even more fun to watch those racers flip and turn in the air over the water as well as on it. The US Freestyle PWC Championship 2018 Spring Round comes to Lake Havasu on May 19th to show off spectacular, adrenaline-pumping freestyle moves!
- What: US Freestyle PWC Championship 2018 Spring Round
- Where: Bridgewater Channel & under the London Bridge - Maps/Directions
- When: Saturday, May 19th, 1:30 pm to 9 pm
- Admission: FREE to spectators
The freestyle-only PWC championship's roots began seven years ago in Europe. Then, three years ago, it crossed the pond and made its way across the US. In Lake Havasu City, we've seen riders perform aerial acrobatics for years. And our toasty temperatures and sunny skies make this a great place for PWC freestylists to compete!
The US Freestyle PWC Championship is broken down into eight major categories, with three new sub-classes. The main categories include Beginner Open, 800, 900, 1200, and best trick for each. New sub-categories for 2018 are Junior (15 years and younger), Ladies, and Veterans (45 and younger). All riders show off their best tricks in a two-minute routine. And the day ends with a "Best Trick of the Night" competition at 7:30 pm. That's a freestyle free-for-all you won't want to miss!
The US Freestyle PWC Championship offers no assigned seating. For your comfort, I suggest bringing a lawn chair from home. Thousands of people crowd the Channel for a look at the competition. It might be a good idea to get there a little early to claim your spot before the competition begins.
The competition will be back to our shores in September for the Fall Round of this nationwide competition. If you miss the Spring Round, you'll be waiting a while to catch it again. So, you might want to mark your calendar so you don't miss this fast-paced competition of skills.
