Last year's inaugural race was such a hit, the organizers decided to do it again. Head over to the California side of Lake Havasu where the Southern California Outboard Association will conduct an American Powerboat Association-sanctioned boat races. Races run from 8 am to 2 pm each day. Watch as seven different classes of powerboats compete, including Inboard, Inboard Endurance, OSY-400, Stock Outboard, SST 45, Sport C, and J Class.
In between races, feel free to visit vendor row. These vendors aren't limited to boat gear either. You'll find a wide variety of items to shop for here. They remain open until 5 pm on Saturday. For the 21+ crowd, duck into the beer garden area for a refreshing beer while you're at it. All that's required is a valid photo ID and a few bucks. No ID, no service. Please drink responsibly so everyone has a good time. They're also open until 5 pm on Saturday.
Can you bring your own food and drinks? Yes, including alcohol. It'll be a long day. Keep them packed away in a cooler. But, if you don't feel like trekking a cooler from the car, food vendors will be available. Also, bleacher seating is limited. It's highly recommended that you bring some lawn chairs with you from home. That way you know you'll always have a comfortable seat to watch the races.
No tickets required for this high octane extravaganza. Just show up, set up your seats, and have a blast!
