Boat lovers will have a blast watching the most significant collection of world class performance boats from around the country.  Don’t blink!  Some of these boats will reach top speeds of 180+ miles per hour as they run the course from Site Six to Spectator Point.  Even the air will be filled with electricity, courtesy of the buzz of each racer’s helicopter team following closely overhead.

Tuesday, April 26th kicks off the 18th Annual Desert Storm Poker Run and Shootout with a meet and greet at Pirate Cove Resort.  Admirers can come meet their favorite racers between 11:30am and 1:30pm. You can shake their hands, wish them luck and maybe even get a picture with them (no promises).

The official festivities for the 18th Annual Desert Storm Poker Run and Shootout begin at 10am on Wednesday, April 27th with powerboat rides for the kids at the London Bridge Resort docks.  Take the little ones to the resort’s pool from 1pm to 4pm for a kiddie pool party.  Then, West Coast Drives is hosting an open house and welcome party from 6:30pm to 9:30pm at their 1766 W Acoma Blvd facility.

On April 28th, it’s time for the Desert Storm Street Party.  Everyone is welcome to hit the streets for a fun, festive time.  McCulloch Blvd. will be shut down to street traffic from Capri Blvd. and Acoma between 12pm and 9:30pm on Thursday only so you won’t have to worry about cars, trucks or motorcycles getting in the way of your fun.

Friday starts off with the Poker Run Channel Parade through Bridgewater Channel at 10am.  The best place to view the parade will be in the English Village.  Then, head over to Rotary Park for the Power in the Park Party.  There will be vendors, boat displays, a Big O Burnout Contest, car show, live music and much more for the public to enjoy.

Things really start jumping with the Power in the Park concert from 3:30pm to 9:30pm. *Please keep in mind that no boat parking will be permitted through the Channel during the Power in the Park Party.  Only participants in the Poker Run will be allowed, as long as they are flying the official green Desert Storm pennant.

Last year, 177 boats were registered to participate.  It looks like the 18th Annual Desert Storm Poker Run and Shootout is going to be even bigger, better and louder than 2015.  You aren’t going to want to miss it!
