Desert Storm Poker Run and Shootout is Back in Lake Havasu City for 2022

The first half of April in Havasu is reserved for the boat show. The second half is to show off what your new boat can do out on the water! It's time to get your boat out so you can stretch your new watercraft's "legs" before the summer even starts!

Whether you registered for the poker run or just want to root on the players, help kick things off with the Party on Main Street. Starting at 1 pm on Thursday, April 21st, Havasu's Main St/McCulloch Blvd closes down to all traffic except foot traffic. Pick up all the new 2022 Desert Storm Poker Run merch from all the vendors. Plus, get a close-up view of some of the best-looking custom boats on display along Main Street.

On Friday, April 22nd, participants in the poker run line up on the lake for a parade through the channel at 11 am. The route takes them from Thompson Bay through the Bridgewater Channel. From there, they head out to pick up their cards at each of the five official stops along the Poker Run to form a poker hand. Cards must be turned in between 5 pm and 8 pm that night. From 2 pm to 5 pm, Kokomo's hosts a pool party for participants and spectators alike.

Then, on Saturday, get ready for the Shootout. Arguably, this is the most exciting of the weekend's events. Come early to scout your spot anywhere on the Island's bluffs all the way out to Spectator Point. Participants in the Shootout race against each other in eight different divisions. The winners of each division receive a cash prize as well as their name on the official racing plaque at the awards ceremony that takes place in the conference center on Saturday night.

If you wish to watch the racing from the lake, make sure you keep your eyes out for the designated racing area. Stay outside this area for your safety as well as the safety of the Poker Run and Shootout contestants.
