Desert Storm Poker Run & Shootout Celebrates its 25th Season in Lake Havasu City
What do you get when you mash boating with gambling? A poker run. And what is the favorite poker run of all Havasu residents and visitors alike? Desert Storm Poker Run & Shootout 2023. With the Lake Havasu Boat Show going on THIS weekend...You don't have to wait long either because this awesome event takes place later on this month and is one of the biggest boating events in the nation!

The weekend's festivities begin with a street party on Thursday, April 20th. Everyone is welcome to attend. Just make your way to the Downtown Havasu District between 1 pm and 9 pm. You'll see some of the finest speedboats on display all along Main St. Visitors must park along Mesquite and Swanson and walk over to Main St since the street itself will be closed to automotive traffic. But don't worry. The parking is free.
On Friday, you're going to want to head over to Bridgewater Channel for the Parade of Power. From 11 am to 11:30 am, dozens of power boats make their way through the channel. The best vantage points for viewing will be along the channel and on London Bridge Beach.

After the parade, the Desert Storm Poker Run begins. Contestants race to five stops around the lake. At each stop, they pick up a card. At the end of the line, they create a five-card poker hand. Winners receive cash, prizes, and bragging rights for a whole year.
On Saturday, the grand finale...the Shootout! This is the highlight of the entire weekend. The Shootout starts out at Site Six at 9 am. Racers travel all over the lake into the afternoon. Awards will be handed out at the dinner held at the HQ tent starting at 7 pm. And you won't want to miss the after party either. Lots of good times await.

If you weren't able to get a ticket to be IN the poker run or shootout, you can still participate. These guys need some cheering on from the sidelines. And that costs absolutely nothing for you to do! Good luck and have fun!
