In just a few day, we celebrate Christmas. In less than a couple weeks, we enter a whole new year. And in just under a month, the Havasu Balloon Festival takes to the skies above our fair town in the first major event of 2019.

The Havasu Balloon Festival and Fair opens its gates promptly at noon on January 10th. That's also when the Kids Fun Zone and vendor row open up. With the exception of Thursday, watch as dozens of balloons take off in a mass ascension at 7:45 am. At 4:30 pm each day (Thursday through Saturday), the afternoon mass ascension takes place. But the truly impressive sight to see is the Night Glow at 6:30 pm each of the first three nights of the festival.

Each day of the Havasu Balloon Festival (as the weather allows) offers both tethered and untethered balloon rides for the adventurous types. Tethered rides cost $20 for adults, $10 for kids ages 6 to 11, and $5 for kids ages 5 and under. Untethered balloon rides sell for $200 per person. Purchase your tickets early at their respective tents on-site. I suggest you get there early because these both tend to sell out pretty quickly.

While the aerial displays take your breath away, there's more to the Havasu Balloon Festival 2019 than hot air and canvas. Guests will appreciate the live entertainment (music, magic, and more) taking place throughout the grounds on all four days. Carnival rides and games provide endless amounts of fun on the ground as well. Watch the kite show and parachute races. Observe the talents of our canine friends as they demonstrate their abilities in frisbee and fly ball. Then marvel at the beauty of the paper balloon launch at 11 am each day. There's so much to see and do, it's no wonder it's four days long!

Tickets will be available online through December 31st. After that, visit the Balloon Festival's store at 2109 McCulloch Blvd #1 to purchase tickets in person. However, after January 7th, the powers that be will be busy setting up for the festival. So, you'll have to pick up your tickets at Windsor 4 on the day of the event.

General admission tickets (www.havasuballoonfest.com/product/general-admission-tickets) cost $15 per person and allow you into the Havasu Balloon Festival for all four days.

Gondola VIP tickets (www.havasuballoonfest.com/product/gondola-vip-tickets) cost $65 per person for Friday and Saturday and discounted to $25 on Sunday. Thursday's tickets are already sold out. The Gondola VIP tickets grant you access to special breakfast and dinner options in a sectioned off area of the event.
