23rd Annual Lake Havasu Festival of Lights and Boat Parade 2018

Lake Havasu Boat Parade of Lights 2018

I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving last week. Now that the leftovers have been stored away, it's time to get on with Christmas! Yes, we celebrate Christmas here in the desert. But we do it in our own unique way. First, the English Village began lighting up at night with over one million lights last weekend. This upcoming weekend, we have the Lake Havasu Boat Parade of Lights 2018 motoring through the Channel.

  • What: Lake Havasu Boat Parade of Lights 2018
  • Where: Thompson Bay/the Channel
  • When: November 30th & December 1st, 6:30 pm to 9 pm
  • Admission: FREE

The Lake Havasu Boat Parade of Lights is too good to experience just one night a year. Luckily, it'll take place this Friday AND Saturday evenings. Participants dress up their boats in fun themes and parade through Thompson Bay and the Channel, underneath the London Bridge. It is the MUST SEE event of the holiday season. And it makes a wonderful addition to a stroll through the English Village.

Beginning at dusk on both nights (around 6 pm), make your way to the docks by the London Bridge Resort. That's where the boats light up before they head out on the parade. If you plan on adding a bonfire to your evening's plans, they are permitted on the island side beach areas throughout the Channel. However, you must keep them in a portable self-contained fire pit. DO NOT dig a pit in the sand. And take all of your ashes with you when you leave. The beach must be left clean when you're done. The new white sand beaches located on the north end of the Channel are strictly off limits for bonfires of any kind. Please adhere to these rules. Officials will be patrolling the areas both nights. Anyone found disobeying these rules may be subject to stiff fines.
