2016 World Off-Road Championship Series

Our city is probably best known for its namesake Lake Havasu. Watersports tend to rule the day, especially during the warmer months. But did you know that Lake Havasu City is surrounded by thousands of acres of BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land? That gives plenty of area to for the sand dawgs to get dirty. It would make sense, then, that Lake Havasu hosts the World Off-Road Championship Series 2016 this weekend.

• Where: Crazy Horse Campgrounds (1534 Beachcomber Blvd - Maps/Directions)
• When: March 18th to 20th, 7pm to 10pm Fri, 6pm to 10pm Sat & Sun
• Cost: $10/person per day, $20 for a weekend pass, $15 weekend pass for ages 12 & under, FREE for Seniors (over 65) and military with a valid ID

Lake Havasu Hosts World Off-Road Championship Series 2016

This weekend, ATVs and UTVs rule as Lake Havasu hosts the World Off-Road Championship Series 2016.  Racers will be competing Round 4 of WORCS Racing's 2016 season.  Practice sessions will take place Friday morning.  The Saturday and Sunday competitions count as two separate rounds.  Quality Inn and Hampton Inn are the official host hotels for the event.  Camping will also be available at Crazy Horse Campgrounds for $15 per night.  If you are racing in the series this weekend, visit the WORCS Racing website to get all the details.

 

Would you rather cheer on the racers than actually participate in the race itself?  That's fine.  There is a jump at the lagoon that actually takes riders over the water as part of the race course.  That means you can watch the race on land (at Crazy Horse Campgrounds) or on sea (via your boat, waverunner, SeaDoo, etc).

Are you in the mood for a new offroad vehicle to play with?  The event is also holding a special UTV Expo.  Visit the different vendors to see what's new for the upcoming season.  You might even score a special expo discount.
