For some people, camping means a $150,000 Class A motorhome. For others, a simple tent and a couple of sleeping bags will do just fine. However, there's a group of dedicated campers that enjoy camping life with more comfort than a sleeping bag at a lower price tag than a motorhome. For them, the Lake Havasu Vintage Trailer Campout 2019 taking place at the end of this month sounds like heaven.

In recent years, vintage trailers have made a serious comeback in the camping world. With luxury RV models running in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, a return to the simple camping lifestyle has gained some steam. Think about how nice it would be to just hook up your camper to your car or SUV and just drive until you decide to stop for the night. No worrying about hotel reservations. No crazy tent to set up. And no gas-guzzling machine that takes hundreds of dollars to fill up. Just park the trailer and enjoy spending time with your loved ones. With hundreds of thousands of acres of vacant BLM land around the city, there are dozens of things you can enjoy right outside your own backyard. That's the lifestyle celebrated by the Lake Havasu Vintage Trailer Campout.

In its fifth year, the Lake Havasu Vintage Trailer Campout provides a gathering place for vintage trailer enthusiasts to socialize. With no hookups, you'll be dry camping for the entire four day weekend. Participants can go hiking along the desert trails, visit the cactus garden located right in the park, and, on Sunday, hit up the nearby swap meet. Of course, there's always lovely walks along the beach. While leashed pets are more than welcome, they must stay off the white sandy beaches. And, please, make sure you clean up after your pet. Restroom and shower facilities are available on-site as well.
