The first major event held in the new year will be Buses by the Bridge. But that is really just the prelude to an even BIGGER event: Havasu Balloon Fest. Thousands of people from all over the world gather right here in the desert to "ooh" and "ahh" at the gorgeous aerial artwork flying high above. Have you made your plans to attend yet?

Who needs to travel all the way to New Mexico to watch air balloons fly? Plus, their festival takes place in October. Do you really want to wait that long? I say NO! Instead, head out to Lake Havasu State Park for four days of high-flying fun.
Each morning (except opening day) starts off with a mass ascension. Each evening (except closing day) includes a night glow. And believe me. You don't want to miss either one! But in between each of these amazing experiences are plenty of other amazing things to do as well.
Visit vendor row for some great merchandise. Listen to live music. For an additional fee, have a grand old time at the carnival every single day. In addition, several live musical acts, demonstrations, and more are planned all day every day.
But, if you want to actually experience what it's like to fly, you'll want to sign up for a balloon ride. They offer both tethered (for those unsure individuals) and un-tethered (for the daring folks) rides. Simply visit the ride sale tent early in the morning to sign up. Tethered rides are available on a first-come/first-served basis. Of course, whether or not these rides happen depends solely on the whim of Mother Nature. They can be shut down at any time.
Free parking is available at Pima Wash (across from Fresenius Kidney Care), Mohave Community College, and LHHS. A free shuttle takes guests back and forth all day long on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday only. No shuttle for opening day (sorry). For an extra fee, you can purchase a VIP parking pass that gets you closer to the action. If you plan on coming by boat, park it along the Bridgewater Channel for free. Enjoy!
